Prayer for 2013

Lord, I pray that I may grow deeper in your word in 2013.  When Satan comes to immediately to take away the truth you’ve spoken through distraction and busy-ness, please protect me and reanchor me in your love.

Lord, I pray that not only may I continue to receive your instruction and word with joy but that I would be deeply rooted in you so that when hardship, tribulation, and persecution grows harsher in account of You, I will not fall away.  Please give me courage and integrity.

Lord, I pray that the cares of the world and the desires for other things may never be what I live for. Make me a woman who desires nothing else but to be in your presence, beholding your beauty and in bringing you glory.

Lastly, I pray for a fruitful year. Please open more doors for the gospel to reach to the ends of the earth. Give me humility, courage, love, and faith. May your will be accomplished in my life this coming year.

I pray this for all your people.

Exodus 3:12

Does not our heart burn when we hear God say, “My name is, ‘I am who I am’”? The absoluteness of God’s existence enthralls the mind: God’s never beginning, never ending, never becoming, never improving, simply and absolutely there—to be dealt with on his terms or not at all. Let this sink in: God—the God who holds you in being this very moment—never had a beginning. Ponder it. Do you remember the first time you thought about this as a child or young teenager? Let that speechless wonder rise. God never had a beginning! “I am” has sent me to you. And one who never had a beginning, but always was and is and will be, defines all things. Whether we want him to be there or not, he is there. We do not negotiate what we want for reality. God defines reality. When we come into existence, we stand before a God who made us and owns us. We have absolutely no choice in this matter. We do not choose to be. And when we are, we do not choose that God be.

No ranting and raving, no sophisticated doubt or skepti- cism, has any effect on the existence of God. He simply and absolutely is. “Tell them ‘I am’ has sent you.” If we don’t like it, we can change, to our joy, or we can resist, to our destruction. But one thing remains absolutely unassailed: God is. He was there before we came. He will be there after we are gone. And therefore what matters in life above all things is this God. We cannot escape the simple and obvious truth that God must be the main thing in life. Life has to do with God because all the universe has to do with God, and the universe has to do with God because every atom and every emotion and every soul of every angelic, demonic, and human being belongs to God, who absolutely is. He created all that is, he sustains everything in being, he directs the course of all events, because “from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever” (Rom. 11:36).

May God inflame in you a passion for his centrality and supremacy in your life. May it be so that when you are dead and gone the people you love and serve will say, “This one knew God. This one loved God and lived for the glory of God and showed us God day after day. This one, as the apostle said, was ‘filled with all the fullness of God’” (Eph. 3:19).

Prayer Request!

My mom has had cancer for about 3 years now. Been back and forth with surgery and chemo treatment. It has worked really well for her and is continuing treatment to kill/ stabilize the cancer. We got news today that the cancer has progressed once again.

My prayer request is for God to give her strength and fight to beat this. For God to remind my mom that He is in the midst of this situation and no matter what could happen God is with her. God has made my mom so strong already I want my mom to realize it. Pray for my moms healing, if it’s His will right now.

Thank you guys.

From Bible-Belt Pastor to Atheist Leader

After a few quick searches with the terms “pastor” and “atheist,” he discovered that a cottage industry of atheist outreach groups had grown up in the past few years. Within days, he joined an online network called the Clergy Project, created for clerics who no longer believe in God and want to communicate anonymously through a secure Web site.

Lord, thank you for allowing me to know Hai. I ask for the greatest thing I can ask on his behalf. Would you give Him yourself just like you have done so for other believers?  I know that you care for him more than all of his friends combined. I ask for your mercy on his life and that you, in your kindness meet him.

jesus welcomed home mike’s grandpa this morning.

near the end of his life, he lost his sight.
but now he can see 12 primary colors, not just three.
and
he can finally see the face of God.

23 Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
    and my portion forever.

Rey

My friend’s cousin was hit by a stray bullet last night as he was driving down the 405. He is from Vietnam, and his parents live there and do not know about it yet.

The bullet is still implanted in his ear, and they are running tests and should perform surgery on it soon. He is conscious and coherent.

Please pray for Rey’s recovery, and pray for my friend that she will know the right timing to tell his parents about the accident, and that his parents will take the news well and not panic.

Pray that God’s presence will surround the whole event, and that His joy and love will fill Rey during his recovery process.

Thank you!
